How to download videos from Telegram channels
Whether it's a course, a movie channel or a folder of shared files — here's how to download videos, audio, subtitles and documents from any Telegram channel you can access, on Windows or Android, in original quality.
What you need
- A Telegram account (your own login — the app signs in with it, no bot needed).
- Access to the channel: public (a
t.me/namelink), private (you're a member or have the invite link). - Your free api_id and api_hash from
my.telegram.org → API development tools.
Steps
- Install the app for Windows or Android and open it.
- In Settings, enter your api_id, api_hash and phone number, then sign in with the verification code.
- Paste the channel URL (or invite link) and tap Scan — the app lists every file the channel has ever posted.
- Choose what you want (video, audio, subtitles, images, archives, documents), then tap Download all or select specific files.
- Files are saved in original quality to a per-channel folder on your device.
Private channels: you can only download from channels you're already a member of, or by pasting a valid invite link — the app joins it for you. It doesn't bypass Telegram's access rules.
Tips
- Resume — big files download in parallel parts and pick up where they left off, even after a restart.
- Search & filter — sort by date, name, type or size to grab exactly what you need instead of everything.
- Skip existing — re-scanning won't re-download what's already on disk.
Frequently asked questions
Is it free?
Yes — there's a free tier for everyday use. A one-time premium purchase unlocks unlimited downloads.
Does it re-encode or lower quality?
No. Files are saved exactly as they were posted in the channel.
Can I download from channels I don't follow?
Only if the channel is public or you have an invite link and you join it. Everything is done with your own account, respecting Telegram's access rules.
